Private intensives
Real movement in a short time, with a plan for after.
An intensive is one to three days of focused work with me, built around the thing you're actually facing. It's for people at a turning point, who can't wait months to see change or who can only step away from life once.
Why intensives work
Weekly therapy is built in 50-minute pieces. You arrive, warm up, go somewhere real, and then the hour ends. In a longer block there's room to stay with something, to rest, and to come back to it. That's especially true for trauma processing and for patterns that live in the body.
It's also a better fit for how many gifted and busy people live: a bigger commitment up front, then a lighter touch afterward.
What's included
- A planning call.30 minutes, free. We talk about what you want, whether an intensive is a good fit, and what's safe to take on in the time we'd have.
- Preparation.A short preparation call and a few forms, so we begin the first morning without catching up. You'll also get a simple plan for the days around the intensive: sleep, food, quiet, and no hard conversations scheduled for the evening.
- The days themselves.Paced in blocks with real breaks. The work is trauma-informed and body-based, with EMDR, Flash Technique, parts work and plain conversation as they fit. I shape each day around you.
- Integration.A written summary of what we did and what to practice, plus two follow-up sessions in the weeks after, included in the fee.
Formats and fees
| Format | What it is | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Half day | About 3 hours of focused work | $950 |
| Full day | About 6 hours, with a long midday break | $1,750 |
| Two days | Two full days, back to back or a day apart | $3,200 |
Fees cover preparation, the sessions, the written summary and two follow-up sessions. Travel and lodging are extra when I come to you. I don't bill insurance for intensives, and I can provide a superbill. Intensives are paid in advance, and I'll give you a Good Faith Estimate beforehand.
Where they happen
- By video. Shorter blocks across a few days, from a private place in California.
- In person, where you are. I can travel within California to a private, quiet space you arrange, such as a rented house or retreat space.
- In person, at a place we choose together. A quiet, well-suited location near you. I'll help find one.
- At my home, later. I'm planning intensives at my own place in the foothills. This isn't open yet. Ask me if you'd like to hear when it is.
Because I'm licensed in California, therapeutic intensives are for people physically located in California. If you live elsewhere, I'm glad to talk about leadership consulting or training for your team, which isn't therapy and has its own agreement. Ask on the planning call.
Who this isn't for
An intensive isn't a good first step if you're in active crisis, if you have no support after the days end, if you have a recent hospitalization or active suicidal thinking, or if you'd be using it to avoid a decision you already know you need to make. I'll tell you if that's the case, and I'll help you find the right care.
